The Full Story

Growing up in China, I didn’t have access to children’s books. At that time, it was a very poor country. I played with other children in our dirty yard. I picked dry leaves for cooking. I cut fresh grass and sold it to make money for candy. I dreamed that one day, I’d wear a white coat and work in a science lab!

In 1985 I came to the United States as a scholar, then I went to graduate school.  I was trained in endodontic dentistry and I have been an Endodontist since 1991.

My interest in photography began during our family trips, while enjoying wildlife in it’s natural habitat. I have traveled seven continents, witnessing the beauty that God created for us. I climbed the Himalaya, seeking Snow Leopards; searched for Emperor Penguins on the ice breaker; watched

Lemurs on a mountain in Madagascar; observed Polar Bears at -30 degrees; and I was priveledged to see a big gorilla family in Uganda, as well as Jaguars in the Pantanal of Brazil. I wish you all could experience these!

My purpose for writing children’s books, is to introduce you to the amazing things I’ve seen and share this incredible knowledge with the youth of the world. It is my hope that it will prompt you to get involved in the conservation of animals and their habitat. The Earth is our home and we must make every effort to protect those who depend on us. Their future is in our hands.
